Trending Upward is excited to announce that we are moving our Waconia location across the street to 138 W 1st Street by September 1, 2026 (or earlier, if possible!). We will be merging back with Promise Church in one convenient location in downtown Waconia. We have compiled the following list of frequently asked questions to help everyone through this transition. 

 

STORE MOVE FAQs

  1. ​How long will you be accepting donations at your old location (141 W 1st Street)?

    • We will accept donations there until we open at 138 W 1st Street.​

  2. Will the store be closed during the move?

    • We plan to be closed Monday, August 31 for the move. We will share details as we get closer to the move, so be sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates.​

  3. What are your hours at 138 W 1st Street?

    • Our hours will remain the same: Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.​

  4. Where should I park to shop?

    • Public parking lots and city street parking are available. The most convenient parking will be in the city lot directly outside our east doors or in the angled street parking across from the movie theater.

  5. Where can I drop off donations at 138 W 1st Street?

    • We will have a drive up drop off of the alley on the north side of our building. Enter from Vine Street and travel east to our new donation door. 

  6. Is your new location pet friendly?

    • Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash. ​

  7. Is your new location accessible?

    • Yes. Accessible parking is available on both sides of the entrance. The entrance and sales floor also are accessible. 

  8. How much bigger is the new store? Will you have categories from the upstairs store available again?

    • The new store provides approximately 30% more sales floor space. We are excited to bring back some of your favorite categories from the upstairs store, such as year-round Christmas, wall art, sporting goods, and plug-in items ​

  9. Where is the church within the new location?

    • Promise Church's entrance will be through the west doors, facing Domino's and Home Again Furnishings. 

  10. Are there public restrooms?

    • No, there are no public restrooms available. ​

  11. Will there be a grand opening celebration or moving specials? 

    • Yes, we are planning a grand opening with specials. Be sure to follow us on social media for all the details. ​​

  12. Can I volunteer to help you move?

    • Yes, we would love to have you or your group! Sign up here​

  13. Will you be accepting furniture at your new location?

    • ​No, we will not be accepting furniture. We recommend taking furniture donations to Home Again Furnishings in Waconia.

  14. Is your Norwood Young America store going to still be open?

    • Yes! Our Norwood Young America location is a permanent second location of Trending Upward Thrift Shoppe.​
