Trending Upward Thrift Shoppe is a non-profit, faith-based ministry of Promise Church and exists to love people by meeting their basic needs of clothing and home essentials. We partner with our community through a program called Corners of Your Field to go above and beyond by offering gift cards to the charity of the donors' choosing.

History and Locations

In 2013, we launched as a mobile thrift store within our church building.  We relocated to a permanent location (non-mobile) in downtown Waconia in November 2022. That means we are able to offer more shopping hours to our community, longer donation hours, and more. Our current Waconia store is located at 141 W 1st Street (lower level facing the Waconia City Hall).

We are continually adapting to serve our communities better. As of 2025, our Waconia location operates exclusively on a single level for a clearer and more accessible shopping experience. Additionally, we closed our Chanhassen location in June 2024. We welcome all to shop and donate at our Waconia location.

We are excited to announce our second permanent location! In February 2026, we opened a second location for our non-profit thrift store in Norwood Young America on Faxon Road, where thrifters can find all their favorite categories as well as a convenient donation drop-off process! Stop by and see us Tuesday-Saturday. We are grateful for the ability to be a part of the NYA family and look forward to serving a new community
