Trending Upward Thrift Shoppe is a non-profit, faith-based ministry of Promise Church and exists to love people by meeting their basic needs of clothing and home essentials. We partner with our community through a program called Corners of Your Field to go above and beyond by offering gift cards to the charity of the donors' choosing. ​​

History and Locations

In 2013, we launched as a mobile thrift store within our church building.  We relocated to a non-mobile location in downtown Waconia in November 2022 while awaiting our permanent home at 138 W 1st Street. As of September 1, 2026 we finished remodeling and moved into our new building that we share with Promise Church.  ​

We are excited to announce our second permanent location! In February 2026, we opened a second location for our non-profit thrift store in Norwood Young America on Faxon Road, where thrifters can find all their favorite categories as well as a convenient donation drop-off process! Stop by and see us Tuesday-Saturday. We are grateful for the ability to be a part of the NYA family and look forward to serving a new community.

Additionally, we had a Chanhassen store venture which closed in June 2024. We welcome all to shop and donate at our Waconia or Norwood Young America locations.
